JOB SUMMARY:
Virginia Tech India is looking for two postdoctoral fellows/research scientists to undertake the state-of-the- art research in the synthesis and application of graphene and its derivatives (graphene-x) for a variety of applications including thermal management, carbon capture, and sensor development. This research will primarily be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Roop L. Mahajan, Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS::
PhD degree from a reputed university/institute in Chemistry, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated experience and ability to conduct laboratory experiments, with minimal supervision and with the utmost regard to safety is required. The candidate must have expertise and experience of working in wet chemical laboratory with strong interest in experimental work. In addition, the candidate should have a working knowledge of characterization techniques such as x-ray diffraction, Raman Spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and should be willing to learn about other tools essential for effectively pursuing this research. The selected candidate is expected to be competent in scientific writing and presentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with prior research experience in the field of graphene-x and a successful record of proposal writing will be given preference. Self-motivated candidates, with innovative ideas and willingness to spend long hours in the laboratory will get an edge.
